I can't believe I'm writing this : Mayo Won Sam!! Oh I don't have words to describe the feeling. I'm so delighted for my Mayo family, my Mayo friends, the Mayo community all over the world. The tears of joy I've seen in the last 24 hours, the excitement the screaming the laughing the stunned silences, it has been an unbelievably special privilege to have seen this happen. We are so so especially proud of young Daragh Byrne, who we've known since he was two and a half years old, and for all his friends, including my junior shepherd who played with him all the way up, and went on to support him yesterday in white Mayo shirts yesterday with his number 13 on the back.
