How many can you cater for?

These tours are private and bespoke for you, your family, or your friends. The maximum number we can take is 6 people and we always welcome solo travelers too.

Where is the farm located?

We are located off the N17 at

This is a 15-minute drive from Ireland West Knock Airport, a 40-minute drive from Ashford Castle, an hour's drive from Galway City and Sligo town. We are 5 km from the town of Claremorris and 3 km from the village of Knock.

Do we need to wear special clothing?

As you are outdoors for some of the tour it is recommended that you wear footwear such as wellies, hiking boots, or old shoes, as the ground can be wet, and all weatherproof clothes in case of bad weather while on the tour.

How long does the tour last?

The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours

Do you cater to children?

Children are very welcome but must be supervised at all times. The tour is not ideal for children in buggies because part of the tour, includes walking in fields and the farm yard.

What if the weather is bad?

Tours are conducted rain or shine; but we will adjust to keep you as dry and warm as possible, for example, we can spend more time, inside or under cover, but as the tour is private to you, we will be guided by your preferences.

You will need to arrange your own transport to the farm,

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel within 1 week of your tour date, we will refund you completely. If you cannot attend at short notice, your booking is fully transferable to another group or individuals and they can attend in your place. If you cannot attend at short notice please contact us and we will see if we can rearrange a time, but we cannot always guarantee this will be possible.

Fantastic Tour

What an amazing experience to be able to hold a baby lamb! It was so delightful to watch my two teenage daughters enjoying the sheep families. Anyone that loves sheep milk products should definitely do the private tour. I learned several interesting facts about sheep and the process that goes into making this culinary delicatessen. It was wonderful to see the family working together to make the Velvet Cloud business a success. I highly recommend a visit to the beautiful Flanagan family farm.
