This week I was invited to a lovely Gathering in the beautiful surroundings of the Ocean Sands Hotel. It was the occasion of a gathering of local food producers brought together by Chef Marcin (ex previously worked at the award-winning Eala Bhán Restaurant in Sligo Town for seven years. Marcin also won the Yes Chef Rising Star and Best Chef in Connaught awards ). Marcin is passionate about supporting local which really showed in the menu he produced. On Tuesday night, we were treated to a menu entirely produced with local produce, on a Wednesday morning, we were sampling and promoting our produce and explaining our business on local radio Ocean FM
You could be forgiven for thinking Michael never gets out because he is so camera-shy. But this week, he was in Co Clare for the AGM of the Irish Farmhouse Cheese Producers or CAIS. Kindly hosted by the fabulous Siobhan of St Tola Goats Cheese, these events are very important. The artisan cheese industry in Ireland is a very close-knit community. We support each other, share knowledge, and promote each other's cheeses when we can.
Here they all are having a great time and enjoying a wonderful spread but on by the fabulous Siobhan in St Total Co Clare
