6 x 450g pots of fresh creamy grass-fed Natural Velvet Cloud sheep’s milk yogurt. The sustainable cow dairy alternative. Made on our family farm in Co Mayo, with nothing added and nothing strained away, just fresh pasteurised sheep’s milk and four live cultures. Used by Ireland’s top chefs, this creamy mild tasting yogurt works in both sweet and savoury dishes; its ideal on its own or as a dressing, to replace mayonnaise or creme fraiche, with curries, on the side, as a dip, or in smoothies.

Sheep’s milk has a higher nutritional profile than cow’s milk and suits many who feel they are sensitive to cow dairy. Your order will be delivered directly to your door via courier.

Because we want to encourage the trial of Ireland's only sheep's milk yogurt, we offer free shipping for six pots. We also give you three weeks of shelf life on your delivery, so you have plenty of time to eat it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does your sheep’s milk yogurt taste like?

People are usually surprised when they taste Velvet Cloud for the first time. They tell us that it is a lot creamier than they thought it would be and that it doesn’t have the same “tang” as cow’s yogurt, or the smell of goat’s yogurt. The reason it is so creamy is because of the high fat content (healthy fats!) and the fact that sheep’s milk is naturally homognised. This means that the little fat globules are floating around naturally in the milk, giving it that lovely creamy mouth feel.

Can you freeze sheep's milk yogurt?

Yes, you can freeze Velvet Cloud in a domestic freezer, but when it defrosts it tends to split, so while it is fine to eat and tastes fine, the texture may not look great. What we do with defrosted yogurt from domestic freezers is make the porridge bread or use it as an ingredient in cooking, like in curries and it works perfectly.

My seven month old Harry isn’t great with cow’s milk so having your amazing alternative is so great. But the main thing is he LOVES it. He’s on solids about six weeks ago and if ever he gets fussy with food I just take out the carton of yogurt and he gets so excited. I used to mix fruit with it, thinking he would need it but he actually loves it just as much on its own! Little champ! Also…! He’s not taking much milk now, obviously because he’s a man and wants real man food (which is no good for first time moms who are so easily scared by recommend quantities on formula tins!!!) so I was so heartened/relieved to see how much more calcium is in sheep’s yogurt than cow’s. I genuinely let out a sigh of relief when I read it.
Suffice to say, if Harry could leave this review himself he would because Velvet Cloud is by far his favourite food!
