How To Be A Christmas God / Goddess

You know those times when you’ve been so busy preparing for Christmas, your wrecked, but you still want something special to eat? Here’s few tips below using Velvet Cloud yogurt which might inspire over the next few weeks, and whoever is at home with you will elevate you to Goddess/God status. (Well here’s dreaming)

Sheeps Cheese On Sour Dough Bread

Savoury Ideas

Add pesto to Velvet Cloud and use as a dip for carrot sticks or flatbreads (see our recipe) https://velvetcloud.ie/blogs/recipes/velvet-cloud-flat-breads  or simply use as a creamy filling for wraps or sandwiches.

Add harissa to Velvet Cloud with a squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops of olive oil. This is also delicious as a dip and really really good served on top of roasted aubergine, or on top of carrots which have been boiled, patted dry, coated in spices (sugar, mustard powder, paprika, cumin, and coriander) and some oil and then fried.

Make some labneh (cream cheese)  https://velvetcloud.ie/blogs/recipes/two-ingredient-homemade-cream-cheese and have it on crackers with a nice glass of wine. Some of this labhne stired into scrambled eggs, takes them to the next level.

Sweet Ideas

Beat some of the labneh you’ve made with icing sugar and cinnamon and it makes a really special creamy topping for buns.

For a yummy breakfast which tastes Christmassy: chop up an apple skin on, put in a small saucepan add it to some sultanas, cinnamon, cloves and an all spice if you have it, add some water in a sauce pan simmer gently for 10 – 15 mins. Blitz in a food processor, serve with loads of Velve Cloud yogurt on top. I love it during this damp cold weather and it’s a great way to get rid of bruised apples, that my junior shepherds are fussy about eating.

Roast pears with honey and ginger – this is a recipe is here and takes a bit longer, but a delicious and different dessert if you are sick of plumb pudding.

 Hand Made Sheeps Milk Soap

Our last dispatches before Christmas with be this coming Monday and Tuesday next, but in order to avoid problems, we would be very grateful if any of you want to stock up on yogurt on cheese for the next few weeks that you put in your orders over the weekend. The date on the yogurt will be into mid January. The poor lads in DPD are chasing their tails at the moment and its only going to get worse.

We’ve still some Christmas gifts left, last time I checked there was about 30 / 40 fudge and chocolates left.
