Pancake Tuesday Tip: A Touch of Velvet Cloud

As it’s Pancake Tuesday, here’s a simple tip for your batter: consider adding a spoonful or two of our sheep’s yogurt.  It adds a lovely tang and moisture to your pancakes, creating a softer texture. The natural acidity can also contribute to a lighter, fluffier result. I also like to put a big blob of yogurt on the cooked pancakes, it perfectly complements the heavy sweetness of the pancake itself.

Why this works?

Moisture: Yogurt adds moisture, preventing pancakes from becoming dry or tough.

Tanginess: It introduces a subtle tang that complements the sweetness of pancakes.

Tenderness: The acidity in yogurt tenderizes the gluten in the batter, resulting in softer pancakes.

Fluffiness: The acidity also reacts with the flour and eggs, creating a lighter, fluffier texture.

Nutritional Boost: Velvet Cloud sheep's yogurt is naturally high in protein and calcium, adding nutritional value.
