Sheep's milk has twice the calcium of cows milk

193 mg of Calcium per 100g of Sheep's milk

A customer asked me about the calcium levels in our yogurt last week, which made me realise that I don’t really shout enough about the high levels of naturally occurring calcium in our yogurt and I don’t shout about the fact that it is  more bioavailable than it is in other milks.  So here is me shouting:

Sheep’s milk contains 193 mg of calcium per 100g which is nearly double that of cows milk , its also more bioavailable which means more of the calcium gets into your system and can be utilized by your body.

The calcium in sheep's milk is more available to your body

The calcium in sheep milk is part of tiny structures called micelles, micelles are like little delivery vehicles that carry calcium around  your body. These micelles are really good at getting through your digestive system and delivering the calcium where it’s needed. So because of the structure of these micelles, your body  gets the calcium more easily from sheep’s milk than from cows milk.

Shouting over
